In the spirit of Advent, I passionately declared that our family should do this from now on. That we light an advent candle weekly until Christmas day...
And I hurriedly scoured the holiday decorations section of Walmart. I only had less than half an hour to grab the essentials for this wreath before we head to church. I had to come up with something because today was the First Sunday of Advent - Hope.
I had to think creatively and fast! There were no purple and pink candles there! So I picked the green ones and red in lieu of the traditional and symbolic colors. There was no bare wreath available and the decorated ones were ugly and darn expensive. So, I grabbed several trimmings that I plan to put together as a wreath around these candles. By the way, green and red candles are cradled by saucers hehehe!
We lighted the first candle right before we had dinner.... oh isn't it lovely to do this with the family?
